MISS UNIVERSE NEW ZEALAND 2010

Miss Econo Heat, Ria van Dyke, 21, of Auckland, topped 12 competitors to take the Miss Universe New Zealand 2010 title on Saturday, with Miss East Auckland Danijela Unkovich placing runner up and Miss Auckland Caren Freeman second runner up. Ria said it was "a real honour" to win the pageant. "I plan to do this beautiful country proud at Miss Universe." She wowed the judges through a series of tasks, including an interview on Friday during preliminary judging, strutting in a bikini and evening wear before the audience, dancing on stage to the Copacabana along with her competitors. Winning the Miss and Mister Croatia 2010 titles tonite were Katarina Banić, 20, and Radovan Stošić, 22. First runner-up for Mister Croatia 2010 was Nikola Kamenarić, and second runner-up was Stiven Razmilić. Miss Croatia 2010 first runner-up was Anastazija Đurić, and second runner-up was Ivana Ljutić. The glittering, nationally-televised ceremony was held at the Sveti Martin Spa and Golf Resort.

MISTER SLOVENIA 2010

Slovenia has two new tall, imposing kings. At yesterday's Mister Slovenia 2010 contest, blue-eyed Marko Janko won the title of Mister Slovenia International, and brown-eyed Bojan Ilijanič won the title of Mister Slovenia Universe Model. Mister Universe Model 2010, Bosnia and Herzegovina's Tarik Kaljanac was special guest at the nationally-televised contest.

BOLLYWOOD OSCARS

Miss Universe Sri Lanka 2006 and Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez address reporters in Colombo on June 1, 2010. Fernandez is in Sri Lanka to attend the 'Bollywood Oscars,' the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards, to be held in Colombo from June 3-5. Most big Bollywood names are staying away from the Colombo awards, due to pressure from the pro-Tamil Tiger rebel lobby in India's Tamil Nadu state, who are unhappy over Sri Lanka's handling of the final stages of the war with the rebel organisation.

The 10th annual Caribbean Fashionweek (CFW) takes place in Kingston, Jamaica, June 8-14. Kimberley Mais-Issa, Miss Universe Jamaica 1991, and Romae Gordon are the hosts of the TV show "Ready for CFW." Kimberley and Romae will give the viewers a glimpse into this season's collections, and will revisit the previous year's most interesting and striking designs and highlight some of the celebrity performances which made the 2009 event memorable.
