MISTER GOLAZO DE HOY

Today's Mister Golazo is another South American! Paraguay's striker Oscar Cardozo scored the decisive goal at the end of the penalty shootout following extra time in the 2010 World Cup round of 16 match Paraguay versus Japan on June 29, 2010 at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa. Paraguay won in the penalty shootout 5-3.

This weekend saw the election of several more state representatives to Miss America 2011. Among those crowned were Miss Louisiana Kelsi Crain, Miss North Carolina Adrienne Core, Miss Virginia Caitlin Uze, and Miss Maryland Lindsay Staniszewski.

He scored the second goal during the World Cup round of 16 soccer match between Argentina and Mexico at Soccer City in Johannesburg, South Africa, Sunday, June 27, 2010. Argentina won the match and advances to the final eight.

Norway elected its representatives to Miss Universe and Miss World tonight. Melinda Elvenes won the right to compete in Miss Universe 2010, and Mariann Birkedal will compete for Miss World 2010.

El Salvador has new royalty. Elected in a glittering televised gala on Thursday night were Sonia Cruz, who won the title of Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Universo and Gabriela Molina, who won the title of Nuestra Belleza El Salvador Mundo.

MISS TAHITI 2010

The new Miss Tahiti 2010 is Poehere Hutihuti Wilson, 21. She won the title last night in a glittering gala celebrating the 50th anniversary of the pageant, beating out 11 other women. This year, two former Miss Tahiti winners, both named Mareva, were judges - Miss France 1991, Mareva Georges, and Miss France 1999, Mareva Galanter. The pageant took place at the To'ata Palace in Tahiti's capital Papeete.

MAO DAYS




This past weekend was a busy one for the Miss America Organization (MAO). Several states and the District of Columbia held contests to elect their representatives to Miss America 2011, to be televised in January on the US broadcast network ABC. Here are six winners: Miss Georgia is Christina McCauley; Miss Tennessee is Nicole Jordan; Miss Michigan is Katie LaRoche; Miss New Jersey is Ashleigh Udalovas; Miss District of Columbia is Stephanie Williams; and Miss Ohio is Becky Minger. Congratulations all! We will see you in Las Vegas on the night of the final (January 15) and look forward to celebrating MAO's 90th anniversary!

MEET AND GREET

Mmegi, 09-Jun-2010: The 16 Miss Universe Botswana 2010 contestants, who are still unknown to many Batswana, will be given the opportunity to interact with ordinary citizens. The beauty queens will also among many things, give people a free live show where they will strut the catwalk in a practice session ahead of the grand finale to be held on June 25 at the Gaborone International Convention Centre (GICC).

Miss Universe Botswana director, Safi Sekgwa said Batswana should support the contestants by turning up in large numbers this weekend because they are ambassadors of women and Botswana in general. MISS AND MISTER MADAGASCAR 2010



This weekend saw pageants across the globe, including the Miss and Mister Madagascar 2010 pageant. The new Miss Madagascar 2010 is Alexandra Randrianarivelo, 23 and 1m73. The new Mister Madagascar 2010 is Lova Razafindrazaka, 22 and 1m86. Both hail from the capital city of Antananarivo.

MISS TIBET 2010

In this Sunday, June 6, 2010 photo, Miss Tibet 2010 contestant Tenzin Norzom, 24, reacts after she won the crown during the grand finale in Dharmsala, India. Norzom, who was born in the southern Indian state of Karnataka, won an event contested by four Tibetan participants. The contestants are Tibetan exiles.

MISS UNIVERSE ARGENTINA 2010

The new Miss Universe Argentina 2010 is Miss Buenos Aires Yesica Di Vincenzo, 21. She beat out 23 other women for the coveted title. First runner-up in Saturday's gala was Miss Jujuy Sofía Jiménez. Verónica García, Miss San Luis, was second runner-up.
